Established to honor individuals whose lifelong commitment has strengthened social cohesion, interfaith understanding, and harmony among diverse communities across Southeast Asia, the award recognizes Cardinal Quevedo’s unwavering dedication to peacebuilding through dialogue, reconciliation, and inclusive leadership. Selected from more than 70 nominations across the region, he was formally honored during the inaugural award ceremony held last July 15, 2026 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐ค๐๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ผ was recognized for championing the “dialogue of life” building peace through everyday encounters among people of different faiths and cultures and for helping establish the Bishops-Ulama Conference in 1996, an enduring platform for cooperation among Catholic bishops, Protestant pastors, and Muslim ulama. Throughout his ministry, he has consistently advocated for justice, reconciliation, and the protection of the rights and dignity of all people in Mindanao.
