About Us

The NDU-ETD provides opportunity for Cotabato City children and the nearby areas to acquire quality elementary education. This education has enabled many of its pupils to emerge as winners in academic and non-academic contests not only in the city but also at the regional and national levels. A number of its graduates qualified for admission to prestigious high schools.

The school puts very strong emphasis in its religious and values education program.  This program is implemented both within and outside the academic programs.  This is a major reason for parents enrolling their children in the school.  Religion classes are conducted not only for Catholics but also for Muslims.  About 48% of the school population is Muslims.

The pupil population of the school represents children of different religions, cultural affiliations and socio-economic backgrounds.  Although the school collects tuition fees, there are a considerable number of pupils belonging to the low-income group who enrolled despite the fact that free elementary education can be obtained in the public school.  There are pupils, coming from the highland tribal groups, the Muslim ethnic groups, and the lowland Christian Filipino groups.

Message from the Department Head

Notre Dame University – Elementary Training Department is now on its 67th year of existence. Up to this date, it has already served, molded, and produced thousands of elementary graduates who are locally and globally competent individuals equipped with the 21st century skills as they hold various positions not only in the Philippines but also around the globe.

Over the years NDU-ETD stands tall and strong and consistent in its goal of being the leading institution that creates persons of character and excellence through the core values of Faith, Integrity, Respect, Excellence and Service (FIRES).

Now, NDU-ETD answers the call for the new normal in the educational landscape . It was challenged with the existence all the unexpected need for change brought about by the pandemic. It’s administration, teachers and staff needed to adopt the new FIRES – Flexibility, Innovation, Resilience, Empowerment and Sustainability to cater the demands of the present condition.

From face-to-face, we know conduct the distance learning mode. Pupils may join the online classes or opt to have the modular scheme. Teachers explored different methods and applications that they can use for this type of instruction. The school and the parents collaborate to make learning of the pupils possible. There are dozens of test that come along the way but with skillful minds and willing hearts, nothing was impossible.

We thank the NDU Administration for the support it has extended for the realization of continuing the education of the ETD pupils amidst the situation.

To the parents for their understanding and patience and for not giving up on the education of their children during this very difficult time.

To the teachers, the effort and courage you have shown despite your anxiety are not disregarded . You are the greatest factor that education continues even at the worst of times. May you continue to generously share your knowledge time and other resources to our pupils. Keep the FIRES burning.

Two our dear pupils, we congratulate you for striving and giving your best. You are indeed courageous and resilient. You deserve to receive what is best. May you be inspired to continue your zest in seeking knowledge despite the unfamiliarity of the new mode of learning.

Together, we can be triumphant in the end. God bless us.
