tmc

By:  Ms. Shirley I. Tiu-Grade 10 Perseverance Adviser

Last October 28, 2021, Junior High School celebrated ALAB:  VIRTUAL KUMUSTAHAN together with the World Teachers’ Month Celebration and Launching of Language Festival.

ALAB:  VIRTUAL KAMUSTAHAN aims to announce, update and remind everyone about the school operations such as: the monthly activities, schedule of examinations, deadlines on submission, checking on the learning experiences of the students in distance learning, and celebration of successes and learning from failures. This is sponsored by grade level teachers.

Its launching last September was sponsored and organized by the Grade 10 class advisers, hosted by Ms. Shirley I Tiu, 10 Perseverance Adviser and Ms. Twinkle Gem M. Abelarde, Grade 10 Patience Adviser.

This activity also provides a venue for students and teachers to interact virtually through the activities provided like greetings/shout outs, requests and sharing of experiences. Random questions were also asked from which lucky winners received prizes- e-load, gcash load or merchandise.

This virtual activity will never be complete without the participation of our Distance Learning Officer, Mr. Rodman B. Luntayao.  He is in-charge on the giving report about the school updates and concerns.

The following were the highlights of his recent report during the second ALAB:

  1. Series of Library Orientations
  2. Submission of Learning Packs weekly tasks, Scaffolds & Big task
  3. Distribution of Learning Packs for the Second Quarter
  4. Schedule of 1st Quarter-Online Unit Test
  5. Schedule of Virtual Parents’ Orientation
  6. The Conduct of Intervention Classes
  7. Celebration of Language Month; and
  8. Different ways to pay for monthly tuition and school fees.

Most of these reminders were already posted on our NDU Junior High School SSG Official Page.

The October ALAB also launched the Language Festival by the lovely and brilliant Coordinators of the Language Department, Ms. Ronah Vera B. Tobias, LPT, MAELT, and Ms. Angelica E. Pilias, LPT. The theme for this Language Festival is: “Cultivating Filipino and Indigenous Languages Through Fires” which encourages everyone to cultivate and develop the native languages that hold a big part of being a Filipino.

These are the much-awaited activities for this Language Festival:

  2. KANTAHANG PINOY
  3. SPOKEN WORD POETRY
  4. CREATIVE BOOK COVER DESIGN CONTEST
  5. E-POSLOGAN MAKING CONTEST

Guidelines and criteria of these activities will be discussed by the respective class advisers in their Homeroom and Guidance Classes.

The October ALAB was sponsored by Grade 9 teachers. The emcees were Ma’am Rya G. Dojinog, 9-Wisdom Adviser and Sir Roel M. Burlaos, 9-Fortitude Adviser.

The next ALAB shall be streamed live on December with much awaited and exciting activities and prizes.  The sponsoring grade level shall be the Grade 8 Advisers, to be hosted by Ms. Odessa B. Marohomsalic, Grade 8 Humility Adviser and Ms. Mary Rose F. Abrasaldo. Grade 8 Courage Adviser.
