The Biological Society of the College of Arts and Sciences of Notre Dame University formally launched the Science Month 2025 celebration with the theme โSpatialyze: Surveying Societies, Sensing Solutionsโ on September 3, 2025, at the Junior High School Theatre.

The program opened with remarks from Nashria M. Phari, BioSoc Adviser, who highlighted the transformative role of science in addressing societyโs challenges. This was followed by BioSoc President Raffsan Rouf L. Tukas, who presented the line-up of activities for this yearโs observance.

In his privilege speech, Tukas stressed that science is more than tools and data, describing it as a โbridge of equity.โ He urged the community to make scientific literacy and innovation accessible to all, regardless of geography, gender, or socio-economic status.

A message of support was also delivered by Mr. Marlon P. Flores, Adviser for Finance, on behalf of the CAS Dean, commending the efforts of the BioSoc officers and adviser. He emphasized that Science Month should remain meaningful and relevant, underscoring the role of the biological sciences in promoting sustainability.

The event also featured intermission performances by Sir Loyd Adrian R. Pasaje, Lara Vivienleigh L. Benito, and Halouwee Tamala, which captivated the audience. The launch concluded with an interactive Trivia Time, where students enthusiastically participated in answering science-related questions.
