The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary marks the dawn of redemption, the sign of hope, and the beginning of our promised salvation.

Today, Notre Dame University joined the Church in commemorating this special day with the theme: “𝘖𝘔𝘐 𝟤𝟢𝟢 𝘊𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘖𝘔𝘐 𝘉𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘑𝘶𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘦 𝘚𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘖𝘣𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘔𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯.”

 

𝐀𝐬 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐫𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬, 𝐰𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐋𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐲—model of humility, compassion, and unwavering trust in God. In her life, we see the embodiment of Faith that grounds us, Integrity that guides us, Respect that unites us, Excellence that inspires us, and Service that calls us to love beyond ourselves.

 

As the day draws to a close, we may Mary’s faithful assent, her pure love, and her steadfast faith continue to shine as our light, 𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝑵𝒐𝒕𝒓𝒆 𝑫𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒂𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝑭𝑰𝑹𝑬𝑺 𝒊𝒏 𝒃𝒐𝒕𝒉 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒅𝒆𝒆𝒅.
